2018 UTA Convention

UTA Convention is September 7-8, 2018

We look forward to another great convention. This year we will have as our special guest Mr. Dave Tatum. He is a caller and trapper from South Dakota. He is also a former regional supervisor for state trappers in his part of South Dakota. Dave is an excellent caller and trapper and is an amazing shot with his favorite coyote rifle. I think you will enjoy his presentation and learn as much as possible as I intend to do.

We will hold the Friday night hamburger social on September 7th at 6:00 P.M. at the Juab County Fairgrounds between the multi-purpose buildings where the fur sale is held. Come one, come all and enjoy each other’s company. Meet new people, make great new friends. We look forward to seeing you there.

Saturday morning the festivities will begin at 8:30 with Dave Tatum’s demo on trapping and related items. Please support our concession stand. It is for you and to support the association. We will have a bucket raffle again this year with a great prize. There will be other items to buy tickets for as well as a silent auction. Walter Szarek of Great Basin snares is holding a Trappers Education Course during the day Saturday. If you would like to sign up, contact Walter at 385-231-0404.

Our Saturday schedule will go as follows:

Saturday evening will be our banquet dinner at 6:30, with roast/smoked pork. We encourage anyone attending to please bring a potluck dish to help with the food. Thank you for that help. During the dinner we will hold our awards ceremony, our annual live auction and the finale will be the drawing for the raffle, plus awarding those prizes for the most tickets sold by individuals.

First prize will be a Ruger 10/22 w/ walnut stock with the UTA bobcat logo carved into the butt stock
Second prize will be a Fox-pro Hammer-jack e-caller
Third prize will be a Lost Creek cooler and forth prize will be one dozen #2 Coil spring traps

We appreciate the UTA membership and your support of the officers. Without the membership the UTA is nothing. You are its strength. Please continue to be strong for trapping and conservation. We as sportsmen/women are the true conservationists as we put our work and money where our mouths are in support of our wildlife resources. Thank you.

Come out and attend this year’s convention. It will be a good time with a great line up for demonstrations. Also come enjoy the banquet dinner and awards ceremony as well as the live auction. Meet and make new friends and gab with old friends.
